I love all the different types of reactions of people caught off guard. Even though they, obviously, know they are in a haunted house and expect to be spooked, they don't know that their reactions will be captured. Not knowing what they are actually seeing, it amazes me how most of them huddle together for protection from something they know won't hurt them. Plus, it's hard to look cool, peeing in your pants. :) - Tater

Pagans of all denominations are drawn to stone circles and other prehistoric sites; and tourism booms at the Sabbats. But are we caring for our heritage?

No-one knows for certain what prompted our ancestors to drag huge chunks of rock, over many miles, then arrange them in patterns and enclosures. One of the most likely explanations for stone circles was that they were meeting places for related communities dotted across the landscape. They might well have been status symbols and calendars too, but their basic function was as a focal point for gatherings. These could have been ceremonial; it could equally have been a market or a place for eligible young people to meet each other. It could have been all of the above.

When Pagans visit these prehistoric constructions now, it can feel like we're continuing a tradition stretching back into antiquity. But unless we're careful, our celebrations are at risk of doing more harm than good.

Psychic 'scares 12-year-old girl into stealing $10k jewellery to lift terrible curse'

A woman who claimed to be a psychic scared a 12-year-old girl into stealing $10,000 worth of family jewelry as payment to remove a curse, say authorities in California.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said that Jackeline Lopez was arrested last month on suspicion of extortion.

The victim, whose name is being withheld due to her age, is friends with the daughter of Lopez through school.

Decked out: Jackeline Lopez allegedly took the 12 year old victim to her garage and told her that by reading her future, she could tell that the girl had a massive curse placed on her family and Lopez needed jewels to remove it

In August, the victim began sneaking out of her house to visit her friend, and while the girls were at the Lopez residence, Lopez held psychic readings that she told the girl allowed her to read her future.

Authorities allege that Lopez held psychic sessions in her garage in Palmdale, California, about an hour's drive north of Los Angeles.

To create an authentic effect, Lopez decorated the garage in full psychic regalia, adorning it with candles, chalk outlines, cauldrons, beads, dolls, and replicas of human skulls.

Spooky: Lopez told the girl to put the jewels in a cauldron, then she would say that the girl hadn't brought enough jewels to lift the curse

Lopez allegedly told the girl she was cursed and horrible things would happen to both her and her family if the curse was not removed.

So apparently several bands of Amish have been attacking other Amish and cutting off their beards. I assume they are only cutting off the men's beards, but who knows? The attacks are over religious differences. Sadly, no one was able to call 9-1-1. ;)

Three Arrested in Amish Outcast Attacks - Orlando Sentinel

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio—

There are new developments in the attacks on the Amish in Ohio.

Three arrests have been made, but that may just be a small step towards calming a community's fears.

In Middlefield, Amish there are shaken and well aware of the other Amish reportedly attacking their own, over religious 

differences.

 

A woman told Fox 8 News about the attack on her friend's family. "(The suspects) were at my friend's house in Carrollton, Ohio. They started on his beard, but then he yelled for his boys to get the cops," the woman said.

These are very quick, cheap and easy to make candleholders.  I actually made these last year with the kids and the jars are still going strong. They’re  a great way to use glass jars you’d normally send to the recycling plant.  I used an old salsa jar (just like I did for spell jars) to make this Jack!
